Plans are now finalized for our Independence Day party and concert on June 28th. The bands from our Halloween Party in 2007 are both on board and excited to be playing the Underground again. All Kills Aside have been making great strides with their art. They have written many new songs, each new one better than the last. They are playing lots of gigs in the area, working hard and looking to go on a national tour very shortly. Our favorite, and pretty much the best metal band to come out of the Fayetteville music scene, Wrought, will also be performing. Both bands have incredible stage presence and energy. They’ve played gigs in Springfield and Joplin, Fayetteville and Little Rock, Oklahoma City and Dallas. Don’t miss this show. You’ll regret it if you do.

There will be a brief intermission between the bands for a fireworks display to celebrate the 4th of July. If you’re 21+, feel free to BYOB. We will have bathroom facilities and a place to camp if anyone wishes to stay overnight to avoid a DUI conviction. We highly recommend this for anyone planning to imbibe.

Finally, we are asking a cover charge of $5 for the show. The cover is OPTIONAL, but both bands are hard-working and professional acts and very good at what they do. With the high cost of travel, setting up and maintaining equipment, we ask that if you like what you see you pony up some dough. We won’t make folks pay, because we know things are tight all around, but ALL money received will go directly to the bands.

The Blue Cow Game Room will have an Open Poker Night on June 21st, 2008. The game will start around 7:00pm. We are having Italian Night, with lasagna or similar casserole, bruschetta, snacks and dessert. Please come hungry! For the 21+ crowd, we do have an open bar. We have a variety of hard liquor, but if you’re a beer drinker or have exotic taste, make sure to bring what you like as we don’t stock everything and we don’t stock any beer at all.

NOTE: We will be having a discussion before this game about whether to set up Sit-n-Go style tournaments for some future games. Details will be provided with discussion and voting hopefully to follow. We will also bring up the idea of playing different poker games in the future, including 7-Card Stud, Razz and Omaha Hold’em.

We are always looking for new players, so if you are in the area and are looking for a good game of Texas Hold ‘em, please drop on by. Our directions are listed on the Location page, and we are a quick 30 minutes from either Joplin or Springfield. Hope to see you there!
